The last day of school. I remember being a kid and getting out of school on the last day, it was awesome. My kids are so excited, they must have forgotten all of the times last summer they whined the words "I am soooo bored, there is nothing to do."
I was so proud of my seven year old son today. When we met in our usual spot after school he was excited to show me a pin that he had received, it read "Principle's Award". When I asked him what it was for, he informed me that the class votes for one boy and one girl who demonstrated the most kindness throughout the year. Of course any mother would be proud.
My daughter also received an award, "The Eager Reader" award. Having read over 600 books and/or chapters. Like mother like daughter, the two things I was good at, at her age were reading and skipping.
